Alumni Matzka and St. Jean named USPHL NCDC Top Players of the Week

Writer: Markus HoubenMarkus Houben

In USPHL’s NCDC division the top leaders come from the South Shore Kings and the Islanders Hockey Club.  Here is a bit more about the winners:

Top Defenseman of the Week – #8 Mo Matzka, South Shore Kings

Matzka from Mödling, Austria is currently 3rd in points for the Kings and has logged the most ice time on the team.  He was a +6 in the 3 victories this past week and also chipped in with a goal and 2 assists.  He has been a great asset to the Kings.

Top Goalie of the Week – #29 Louis Felix St. Jean, Islanders Hockey Club

St. Jean improved to 6-0 on the year with a spectacular 37-save performance against the CT Rangers in a 4-2 road win.  He has an impressive 1.33 GAA and a .945 save % along with 2 shutouts this season.  The towering 6’5 goaltender is also extremely agile and is one of the best puck-handling goalies the league has seen in a long time.
